Dozens of kids from all over the Black Belt Region are currently participating in a 6-week Summer camp held at the Camden Community Center.
Last Wednesday, the kids enjoyed arts and crafts, sing-alongs, dancing, music classes, and educational games. They even received a karate lesson from a guest martial artist from Selma.
The Camden Community Youth Summer Camp is conducted by Alfreda Williams, Gloria Thomas, and many other volunteers.
The ladies provide food and lunch for the kids, and place great emphasis on building their self-esteem by using positive reinforcement, and providing them with activities they wouldn’t otherwise get to enjoy.
