Dr. Bobby Williams Returns to Camden for Book Signing & Talk

BBT - author - Bobby Williams

Please join Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center and Black Belt Book Bag (book club) this Thursday, July 21st, in welcoming Wilcox County native son, Bob “Dr. Bob” Williams, to BBTCAC to discuss his first novel “Ghost Hollow”. Book Club will begin at noon, with the book signing following at 1:30 pm. “Ghost Hollow”, while a work of fiction, is set along the Alabama River and includes characters and settings that may seem familiar to locals. It is the story of Adam Still, a man forced, if somewhat happily, into a fugitive life. It is saga on a whim, an excuse to waste time daydreaming about camping and being outdoors, hunting and fishing and getting by on one’s wits alone…and maybe a little luck. What would a man do, what could a man do, if he had to? Join Adam as he escapes through the wilds of south Alabama and beyond, as this outdoor-loving outlaw journeys towards freedom.  Bob Williams, alias “Dr. Bob”, is a family physician in rural Opp, Alabama. Alongside his successful medical career, Dr. Bob enjoys writing, playing music, oil painting, and goat raising “tomfooleries. While growing up in Wilcox County, he spent a lot of time on the creeks and river, hunting in the hills and hollows, camping and boating – anything he could do to be on the water. He is the son of Mrs. Louise Williams and the late Joe Williams, and is a member of Camden United Methodist Church. Black Belt Book Bag will begin at noon, where Dr. Bob will discuss “Ghost Hollow” with members and guests. All attendees are invited to bring a sack lunch to the discussion. Following his talk, there will be a book signing at 1:30 pm, which will include light refreshments. Books are available for purchase at BBTCAC.
