Norfolk Southern, one of the nation’s premier locomotive companies, experienced some difficulty staying on track this morning.
Emergency personnel scrambled to return half a dozen freights to their natural, upright position in Kimbrough at approximately 8:30 a.m.
The derailment occurred half a mile down County Road 162 where two railroads intersect. Norfolk’s train appeared to be traveling southbound, when a winding turn apparently caused it to turn over.
Norfolk’s employee’s were unwilling to relinquish any information regarding the trains demise, what it was carrying, or if anyone was hurt. Their Public Relations department has been contacted. And updates are expected as soon as calls are returned.
