(BREAKING NEWS) 10:04 a.m. Wednesday: County, City, and Community Leaders Come together to Reopen Roland Cooper State Park

13925449_4555219280389_1992997330443692733_oAlabama State Parks staff, Wilcox County Commissioners and Camden City Council members are joining together this week to prepare for the reopening of Roland Cooper State Park. Last month a bid was awarded to Recreation Resource Management (RRM) to manage Roland Cooper State Park. RRM expects to have park open to the public before Labor Day.

Before RRM has the grand opening in early September, the park requires cleanup, tree removal and removal of equipment. the leadership and elected officials of Wilcox Count and the city of Camden have stepped up to assist in cleaning up the park by approving work necessary for the cleanup to have Roland Cooper ready for guests this fall.

City and County officials will gather TODAY, Wednesday August 3, at 10:30 AM, in front of the new bathhouse to meet and begin the cleanup process. All media are invited to the park to see teh cleanup process and speak with parks staff, city officials, and county officials about  their partnership to make Roland Cooper available to the public again.

    Do you have a phone number for the new campground at Roland cooper . I would like to know if they are going to have storage at it

    So happy to hear this news. Roland Cooper is our favorite place to camp. Thank you. We look forward to be able to enjoy it again
