Board of Education now on Facebook

Just a few months after launching their official website, the Wilcox County Board of Education is now looking to develop a presence on social media.
A special presentation highlighting new features on the BOE’s facebook page was delivered during Wednesday night’s regularly scheduled meeting.
Superintendant Andre Saulsberry believes technology is the way of the future. With this new Facebook page, both parents and students will be more encouraged to keep up with things going on within the school system.
A slideshow presentation, delivered by Mr. Blackburn appeared on a large projector screen.
A familiar interface revealed itself, and a few staff photos which were already on the Facebook page. Smiling faces of WCHS’s Coach and Band Director scrolled across the screen.
Individual headshots of each Board of Education member, which are pictured above, Top left-Bottom Right – Clifford Martin, Don Twilley, Sheila Dortch, Donald McLeod, Joseph Pettway, and Lester Turk.
A short bio about each member and what districts they represent was also available.
The Facebook page was already jam-packed with photo albums, some depicted images of students roaming the halls, having lunch, and playing sports on the first day of school, all of which took place just a few hours…(READ THE FULL ARTICLE on page 5B of our E-Edition!)
