On May 12th at approximately 11:40am, an African American male about 5’6″ 135 lbs between the age of 18-24 , entered State Farm office on Claiborne St and asked to use the bathroom.
After an office representative advised the male there was no public restroom, the man told the employee that  he would take all the cash in her cabinet.
He proceeded to go to the cabinet and put his hands in the drawer and the employee advised him there was little to no cash on hand, this is when he struck the employee and attempted to grab what he could find in the drawer until the phone rang and the suspect was spooked and ran out the door.
Owner and Agent Hunter Hines was within a half a mile away of the office returning from WA Honors Day when he received a phone call advising a robbery had just taken place.  Upon his arrival he met the staff of Nelson plumbing and Chief Matthews within a minute of the robbery.
Camden PD, County Deputies and ATF officers arrived on the scene soon after.
