James Floyd Harper age 82 of Thomasville, AL died June 10, 2017 at Providence Hospital. He was born March 25, 1935 in Mt. Olive, AL to Ivy Floyd and Mattie Lou Harper. He was a procurement manager for Scotch Lumber Company and a member of Thomasville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce C. Harper of Thomasville, AL; daughter, Deborah (Eddie) Vick of Thomasville, AL; sons, James Michael Harper of Dunwoody, GA, Thomas Detlefsen and Timothy Detlefsen of Thomasville, AL; four sisters, Geraldine Blakeney of Thomasville, AL, Ruby Bline of Dunkinville, TX, Katherine Harper of Grove Hill, AL, and Linda Vogel of Camden, AL; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Harper and his parents, Ivy Floyd and Mattie Lou Harper.
Funeral services were held at Thomasville Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Bill Bozeman, Rev. Ty Parten, and Tad Detlefsen officiating. Burial was at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville, AL.
