Willie Fairley, Sr., the oldest of seven children, was born March 1, 1940, to the late Rufus Blackmon and Lillie Bell Fairley. His guardian parents were the late Douglas and Pinkie Fairley.

Willie confessed Christ at an early age and united with St. John Baptist Church of Camden, Alabama and later united with Little Rock Baptist Church of Camden, Alabama.

Willie was a very hard working person, who loved and cared for his family. Willie was well known in the Wilcox County area, where he served many years as a mechanic and a bus driver until his retirement. After retirement, he used his well known talents to design and make barbecue grills and other items.

God called Willie home on June 9, 2017. He was preceded in death by: his father, Rufus Blackmon; mother, Lillie Bell Fairley; son Joseph P. Fairley; sisters, Gwendolyn Camp, Lizzie Martin and Debra Dugger; and a brother Otis Fairley.

Willie was united in Holy Matrimony to Carlie B. Fairley; to this union seven children were born.

Willie Fairley, Sr. leaves to cherish: a loving wife of 55 years, Carlie B. Fairley of Coy, Alabama; sons, Marvin (Bessie) Fairley of Mobile, Alabama, Willie (Bessie Rudolph) Fairley, Jr. of Atmore, Alabama and Marcus (Merchell) Fairley of Memphis, Tennessee; daughters, Patricia A. Fairley of Coy, Alabama, Pinkie (Robert) Shinn of Mobile, Alabama, and Kanita R. Fairley of Coy, Alabama; grandchildren, Sexton, Darius, Jordan, Lauren, Da’Marcus, Ja’Millah, Brayton, Reginald, Marceion Fairley; great grandchild, Jailah Norwood; other grandchildren whom he loved as his own, Kimberly, Tawanda, Kensley, Niyah, Felicia and Tammy; sisters, Evelyn Felder of Atlanta, Georgia and Patricia Fairley of New York; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
