2017 West Central Alabama River Alligator Hunt Results Week 1

Patrick Stabler was mighty proud of his 12′ 7″, 607 pound alligator caught on the first night of the West Central Alabama River Zone hunt. Because of terrental rains, floating debris in the river and early morning fog, week one was a challenge for the 50 tag holders. Only 12 of the 50 tags were filled in week one. 21 tags were filled in week one of the 2016 season but Patrick’s gator was bigger than last years 12′ 6″, 562 pound big gator brought in by Jessica Guy Anderson.

Patrick Stabler (Tag holder, Frisco City), J.T. Dailey (Camden) and Craig Gamble (Camden) with week one big gator they caught around Chilatchee Creek. Their gator was 12′ 7′, 607 pounds. Local tag holders who did not fill their tags the first week but have 3 more nights to hunt this week are Gary Walters, Don Lauderdale, Ryan Vick and John Stokes. All are reporting seeing and hooking up with some big gators but could not close the deal. It almost a certainty that one of these teams will bring in a huge gator in the next three nights of hunting. (Photo by Big Daddy Lawler)
