Freddie Lee Hunter – Jan. 21, 1941 – Aug. 6, 2019. A native of Camden Alabama, longtime resident of California, most current resident of North Las Vegas, Nevada.
Freddie Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Nettie Bell Hunter and sister, Marilyn Howell. He is survived by two daughters, Kanika (Authur) Whipple of Atlanta, GA and Akilah (Falone) Serna of Thousand Oaks, CA., three grandchildren – Lailah Rose and Emmanuel Jordan Serna and Chrystian Authur Whipple, one brother – Walter (Helen) Hunter of Camden, AL., three devoted cousins- Thomas Hunter of Los Angeles, CA, Ralph Mixon of Cypress, CA and Fred Baldwin of Las Vegas, NV as well as many other relatives and friends.
Before leaving Camden as a young man, Freddie Lee was a talented athlete in high school. He traveled the world as a Merchant Seaman and finally retired from EXXON MOBIL in 2002. Nothing pleased Freddie Lee more than talking about his life as a child and the things his grandfather and grandmother taught him. He was very serious about life, but loved to laugh. Always an avid sports fan, Freddie developed a passion for horse racing…and winning, just as he approached everything in life!
His ashes will be scattered off the coast of San Pedro, CA.
