Neoda McArthur Strickland, 84, died peacefully in her home December 11, 2019 in Camden, AL.
Visitation was at 10 a.m. at Camden Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on December 14, 2019.
Neoda was born November 8, 1935 in Hybart, AL to Oscar and Eunice McArthur. Her father was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Her mother was a homemaker, and later in life, a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. They moved to Camden, AL in 1965.
She spent her young life in Hybart, AL and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1953. She pursued her cosmetology license at trade school in Thomasville, AL and then had the opportunity to travel as a Technician Consultant for Helen Curtis. After marrying Paul Strickland in December 1968, she obtained her realty license and owned Camden Realty for 40 years. She enjoyed retirement by spending time with family, friends, and traveling.
She was an active member of Camden Baptist Church, and enjoyed participating in other active clubs and charities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Strickland.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by her son and his wife, Paul and Leanne Strickland; her daughter, Paula Lee Bailey; and eight grandchildren, Blake Strickland Crabtree (Thomas), Madison Strickland Rodgers (Matthew), Paul J. Strickland, Kathryn Lee Bailey, Kendall Ann Bailey, Cole Thurman Bailey, Sommer Nea Bailey, and Michael Boone Bailey.
Pallbearers were John Robert Harvey, Rick Tait, John P. Dailey, Thomas Andrews, Keith Nichols, and Brian Ogwynn.
