Joy Sears Norsworthy

Mrs. Joy Sears Norsworthy, 77, a resident of Camden, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.

Mrs. Norsworthy lived an incredible life. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia and successfully won an early battle with polio. She went on to work in marketing until her retirement. She spent 60 wonderful years with the love of her life, Philip Norsworthy Sr. Together, they raised five children, and opened their home to many more. They were an example to everyone as they provided a loving, nurturing environment for numerous foster children over the years. She was also a doting “Nana” to her beloved granddaughter in the last years of her life. Her example will continue to serve as an inspiration to all those who knew and loved her, and she will be dearly missed by all of them.

Mrs. Norsworthy was preceded in death by her son, Tray Norsworthy, and her parents, Rupert Leon & Christine Pearl Powell Sears. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Phil Norsworthy Sr; their four children, Philip Jr (Teresa) Norsworthy, Christyna Norsworthy, Connie Norsworthy, and Katrina Norsworthy; granddaughter, Aurora Schaffer; and numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Due to the present public health crisis, the family will hold a memorial service for Mrs. Norsworthy at a later time.
