Camden volunteer firefighters received a call at 6:30 this morning in reference to a burning trailer. The trailer belonged to 52-year-old Jimmy Joe Jackson. He lived on 237 Collins Moton Road in Camden. The house was destroyed, but luckily, Jimmy was selling watermelons  downtown when the fire started. Nobody was injured.  

Dozens of kids from all over the Black Belt Region are currently participating in a 6-week Summer camp held at the Camden Community Center. Last Wednesday, the kids enjoyed arts and crafts, sing-alongs, dancing, music classes, and educational games. They even received a karate lesson from a guest martial artist from Selma.
