Della “Ruth” Wilkerson
Della “Ruth” Wilkerson age 89, of Catherine Alabama entered her heavenly home September 13, 2023 while in hospice care in Mobile, Alabama. She was born on June 1, 1934 in the Forestdale community of Clarke County. She was a long time member of Midway Baptist Church, attended Thomasville High School, and had several different occupations during her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Wilkerson; her parents, Wes and Edna Wilkerson; and her brother, James Wilkerson.
She is survived by her two loving sons, Terry Wilkerson (Tenna) of Catherine, Alabama; Tony Wilkerson of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren: Wes, Danielle, Joshua, and Emily; six great grandchildren; two sisters: Agnes Johnson of Fulton, Alabama and Naomi Smith of Thomasville, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored.
She was a loving, kind-hearted, compassionate woman. Strong in her faith and her belief in The Lord, above all else. She was loved by many and will truly be missed by all.
Funeral services were held at Midway Baptist Church on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11:00 am with Rev. Steve Trader and Rev. Don Stephens officiating. Burial followed at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Wes Wilkerson, Joshua Wilkerson, Ricky Smith, Butch Parker, Lanny Gates, and Kevin Edmonson.
