Gladys Jordan

Gladys Jordan age 88 of Kimbrough, AL passed away on August 23, 2024 while at Crowne Healthcare of Thomasville. She was born April 26, 1936 in Kimbrough, AL to Guy Volney and Bessie Sheffield Mullins. She graduated from Pine Hill High School in 1954 and worked at the Bank of Pine Hill for 5 years and later she was co-owner with her husband Henry of M & J Grocery and Service Station. She was a life-long member of Kimbrough Methodist Church. On July 3, 1959, she married Henry Jordan, and they were married 64 years until he passed away January 15, 2024.
She is survived by their daughter, Beverly Annette Jordan Dozier (Billy) and two grandsons, Slater Allen Dozier and Jordan Daniel Dozier.
She was the youngest of her siblings. They were Margaret Mullins Jones, Willie Lee (Snooks) Chavers, Elbert (Bubba) Chavers, Sarah Mullins Echols Putman, and Frank Mullins.
Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, August 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Reba Wiley and Rev. Steve Green officiating. Interment followed at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Slater Dozier, Jordan Dozier, Mark Jordan, Ruben Ojeda, Larry Jones, Adam McGilberry, Brady Mendenhall, and Larry Huckabee.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Jordan, Donald Lee Thompson, Terrance Jones, Bruce Flowers, Pam Sheehan, Ann Morgan, Gayle McGilberry, Suzanne Rutledge, Ken & Margaret Agee, Lucy Grey & Billy George Huckabee, Patti & Johnny Evans, Drs. Frank & Daveta Dozier, Diane Gatlin and Crowne Rehabilitation Staff, Southern Care Hospice Staff, Lawrence & Francine Champion, and Willie Ann Burroughs.
Memorials may be made to County Line Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Alpha Women’s Resource Center, or the Clarke County Animal Shelter.
