Deborah “Debbie” Ann Jones

Deborah “Debbie” Ann Jones, 68, of Daphne, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Born on February 7, 1957, in Fort Walton Beach, FL, Debbie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her life was one marked by warmth, strength, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. She was known for her generous spirit, quick wit, and love of sunshine, spending countless joyful days at the beach with family and friends.
An avid supporter of the Auburn Tigers, Debbie proudly wore orange and blue through every season. Her loyalty and enthusiasm never wavered, and her home was always filled with spirited game-day energy.
Debbie’s family was the heart of her world. Her happiest moments were spent with her loved ones—sharing meals, telling stories, playing cards, and creating cherished memories. Her presence was a comfort, her wisdom a guide, and her love a constant gift.
Debbie graduated from Wilcox Academy in 1975 and continued to Troy State University as a student and employee.
Debbie dedicated 45 years to the Alabama Department of Public Health. Her career began by working in the Wilcox County Health Department in Camden. She grew to be a Clerical Supervisor covering 16 counties ranging from Hale to Baldwin county. During her time she was a member of the catastrophic storm team and earned the Alabama Public Health Association Virginia Kendrick Award.
A long-time and faithful member of her church, Camden United Methodist, Debbie was a born-again Christian who lived her life guided by her faith. She participated in The Walk to Emmaus and remained spiritually steadfast even as her health declined in later life. In her later years, Debbie became associated with Jubilee Baptist Church in Daphne, Alabama. There, she and her husband found a community that shared their values and faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion “Bo” Coleman and Beatrice Gaston, her stepfather Charles C Gaston, grandparents Jackson and Eloise Coleman and Lizzie Hall, her father-in-law Clement R. Jones Sr., and mother-in-law Arline Y. Jones.
Debbie is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Clement R. “Ricky” Jones, Jr.; her children, Rich (Schaefer) and Jeff (Laken); and her grandchildren, Clem, Ella, Bo, and Camille. She also leaves behind three sisters Anita Willett (David), Janet Sheffield (Fred), and Jackie Watson (Stanley) along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends who will deeply miss her laughter and light.
